Research

The Faculty of Philosophy is characterised by a strong research orientation. It gains its special profile from the dynamic tension between disciplinary diversity and transdisciplinary collaborative research. In collaborative projects such as the SFB 933 “Material Text Cultures” and in new structures, e.g. in the Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS), the Heidelberg Center for Cultural Heritage (HCCH), the Centre for Asian and Transcultural Studies (CATS) and the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE), among others, numerous networks are created within the university, especially with the Faculty of Modern Languages, the Faculty of Behavioural and Cultural Studies, the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences, and also with external partners such as the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg (HfJS) and the Academy of Sciences (HAW).

Detailed information on current research projects can be found on the websites of the institutions as well as on the websites of the joint projects.
